Ukraine/Poland Border
On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, starting what was supposed to be a flash war. The conflict, its geopolitical and its socio-economic consequences persist to this day.
On assignment for National Geographic Magazine, during the very first days of the conflict Davide Monteleone and I were in Przemyśl, a small Polish town on the border with Ukraine, and the main crossing point into the European Union for refugees.
Davide wrote about it on his website, and you can find the original article, along with images by Anastasia Taylor-Lind and Alice Aedy, on National Geographic.
